The Old Columbus Barn
Oil on Canvas,
18"x24"
Here is the old Columbus Barn. It used to be right at
the bridge near the Yellowstone River in Columbus. It stood in this spot
for more than 50 years - which I know of. It withstood floods, windstorms
and severe winters. A few years ago people were allowed to take some of its old
barn wood. This it didn't handle well. It started to crumple.
Eventually, it settled to the ground and its remains were burnt. What a
pity to see the old landmark replaced by some RV's, a picnic table and a burn
barrel in the summers.
